TRAVELS OF TRAVELLER TWO

2018 Summer

Traveller Two explored the east coast of Canada and more specifically the maritime coast of Nova Scotia from Lunenburg to the Great Bras d’Or Lake in Cape Breton.  Our discoveries included many visits to Mahone Bay, Chester, Halifax, Port Hawkesbury, Port Hood Island as well as a short hop out to Prince Edward Island. Admittedly, we found these waters with constant winds conditions to be among the best sailing grounds in the world!  Our summer was spent visiting small towns, taking in local theatre, local sailing regattas while envisioning our future to be spend in this fashion on the eastern seaboard.  A lovely thought indeed.

The end of the summer, brought the end of our chapter on Traveller Two.  With sad heart and emotion we packed her memories and set sail for new beginnings.  Traveller Two was sold to a Nova Scotian family and she now is moored near New Bedford, N.S.  We wish them much happiness on T2 and know that she possesses good karma to endure many varying conditions she may encounter. Our adventures on Traveller II truly broadened our sailing experience while enticing us to look to the future beyond the horizon.

2017 Summer

Spring preparations of new bottom protection, bimini, head sail, radar, AIS, upgraded sail drive, batteries and monitoring systems including replacement of anodes for salt water sailing.  T2 sailed from New Bedford, Massachusetts to Bermuda and back again for a month of enjoyment at the Americas Cup Venue and races.

Returning back to the east coast we sailed up the coast of Maine and on to Nova Scotia, putting her to bed at South Shore Marine.  All totalled we sailed her about 3500 miles over 5 months.

2016 Summer

Left our dock in Toronto in early May, travelled up the Welland Canal (Niagara Falls) and on through the lower Great Lakes to the North Channel.  Sailed Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Lake Huron and up to Superior enjoying all landscape and waters of the Canadian north. All totalled we sailed her about 2000 miles over 4 months returning to Buffalo.  New boat purchases included the ice maker which makes all beverages most refreshing! She was then placed on a transport truck to be hauled to New Bedford on the East Coast.

2015 Summer

Sailed in the Lake Ontario 300 Race to prepare ourselves and the boat with a safety gear etc for long distance sailing.  Enjoyed many long weekend excursions and a 3 week sail to and throughout the 1000 Islands.  All total sailed about 900 miles and spent our summer on the boat.

2014 Summer

Enjoyed weekend sailing around Toronto and local coast line with regular excursions to Niagara on the lake (25 miles straight shot) which became our favourite summer destination.  Purchased and enjoyed sailing with a new Gennaker with full rigging.  All totalled we sailed about 400 miles and spent the summer on our boat.

2013 Summer

Summer of our wedding.  Sailed our new boat from RCYC to various destinations around the lake enjoying the comforts that T2 offered.

Arrival of T2

Purchased her at the Toronto Boat Show in January 2013 with trade in of Traveller One - Beneteau 37.3 which was sold to a loving young family.  The boat had been in the water the summer before but sailed only by the dealer for showing.

Traveller Two was built in Marion, South Carolina in 2012.
